Today I’m reviewing Hot Pursuit.
Short Synopsis:
An uptight and by-the-book cop tries to protect the outgoing widow of a drug boss as they race through Texas pursued by crooked cops and murderous gunmen.**
Non-Spoiler Review:
Hot Pursuit brings a weird comedy duo of Sofia Vergara and Reese Witherspoon. Half of the time you will laugh and half of the time you will scratch your head. This movie tries a bit too hard and doesn’t cut it as a buddy movie. Kudos to the person who remembers any of the scenes after watching the whole thing. If you really want to watch this movie in theaters then catch it during matinee hours.
I give this movie a 3.4 out of 10.

The Good:
The plot twist with Sofia Vergara hiring the thugs made for an interesting twist to say the least. You think she’s a little innocent and then her character flips during a pivotal part of the movie. This was the best acting done in the movie.
This movie had very few laughs but when they received one it was a decent joke. The run-on joke about the height of Witherspoon’s character and the age of Vergara’s character would be the only thing to make you laugh.You could tell from the trailers that those jokes would hold up well during the run-time.
The Bad:
Almost everything was bad about this movie. A lot of the screen time was wasted on telegraphed outcomes and bad jokes. As you’re sitting down watching this movie you wonder why did you pay for it. This is definitely a movie to watch on Netflix.
I love Reese Witherspoon but Cooper just sucked as a character. The reason why everyone knows her name is ridiculous. If you shoot a kid for saying “shotgun” then she deserves to get her badge taken away. He clearly didn’t have any weapons on him and she shouldn’t have panicked. The levels of horrible dialogue doesn’t stop there. Pick anything she said during the movie and it was horrible. The screen writer needs to straighten his act next time.
The Hypothetical:
It would be a different movie if they changed almost everything about this movie. It had barely anything going for it. Sorry to say, it was disappointing.
I dislike bashing movies so I will stop right here.
