Episode #5 – “The Darkness and the Light”
Barry learns a new breacher, Dr. Light, has come through the portal and sets off to capture her. Jay tells Barry that Dr. Light was not a threat on Earth-2 and that Barry can reason with her. However, during a fight with The Flash, she blinds him and drops some shocking news about Zoom. Meanwhile, Barry and Patty go out on a date.**

Overall Thoughts
Harrison Wells is back again for another full episode and he’s making a few waves at Star Labs. This Earth Two version of him is not afraid to make the unpopular decision to get things done. You see his driving force and understand why he’s compelled to finish off Zoom now rather than later. The tension between Jay Garrick and Wells is entertaining as well, ha. These two characters really dislike each other and they went into a little physical altercation that makes you realize Wells could take a punch. Last but not least he finally got Cisco to admit that he’s a meta-human. Actually he kind of outed Cisco but it was needed.
Cisco is an awesome character and this week he upgraded to a ladies man of sorts. He was originally shut down by Kendra Saunders, Hawkgirl to all of the nerds out there, when he asked for her number but before the episode was over she eventually gave him the digits. Besides getting a phone number from a girl this week he started to use his powers more. They even gave him a code name, Vibe.
Another character from the comic books showed up this week and her name is Doctor Light. This show is doing well with bring on different characters from the comics to serve a purpose in the storyline for the Flash. She’s Linda Park’s doppelganger and just like with the Atom Smasher she wanted to kill her counterpart. She was unsuccessful but she gave the team some valuable information on Zoom.
Flash gained another trick in his arsenal. It’s nothing new to the series but it’s something he hasn’t tried at all. This new ability is creating multiple mirror images. He actually made a ton of them and caught on to the concept quite quickly. The last time we’ve witness a mirror image was when Reverse Flash used it in the last season. It was impressive to see Barry use it and shows how fast he’s really becoming on this show.
The only thing I didn’t like about the episode was the Caitlin Snow and Jay Garrick pairing. It feels like a natural attraction but at the same time it’s not needed for the show. When you have multiple couples on the show it creates more chaos and could diminish it entirely.
Final Grade -> 92%
Enough on what I thought about the episodes.
