The Flash Crossover Overall Thoughts

In comes Vandal Savage, he’s a bad-ass and not afraid to get his hands dirty. He successfully takes on the entire Arrow/ The Flash team and owns them. They’re completely outmatched and they know it. The actor they got to play Vandal Savage brings something interesting to the role. We have to wait and see what else he can bring to the table when taking on the group in Legends of Tomorrow.

Cisco plays interference against Vandal Savage for as long as he could and it rocks. His quick thinking kept him and Kendra alive. I kind of wish I had one of those emergency apps on my phone that connects to a superhero. Besides being quick with his hands, Cisco is quick with the jokes and makes you laugh every time he delivers a punchline. It’s such a delight to have him interject his charm into The Flash episodes.
Kendra learns about her past lives and then Hawkman comes in to “save” her. Hawkman gives her some tough training advice about awakening her powers and rocks the boat between her and Cisco. She finally learns how to use her wings slightly before the end of the episode.
Patty straight up shot Harrison Wells in the chest and it’s glorious. This furthers the idea that there are still secrets out there that some of the characters don’t know. It was a great scene because afterwards you get Jay Garrick in semi-speed form. He takes the speed formula to save Wells’ life. The formula works but puts a special kind of fear into Garrick.
This is a great set-up episode for the crossover. It didn’t give too much and allowed you to take in the amount of information coming at you in a short time frame. They introduced some new characters and joined the two superhero teams together nicely. The interactions between all of them were priceless especially Diggle throwing up after Barry saved him with super speed.

Final Grade -> 92%

Arrow Crossover Overall Thoughts

Barry Allen is the man and saves everyone from dying by doing his time traveling trick. Now you’re left to think about what will change now that he went back in time. He’s able to help out Oliver stay with Felicity for now and prevents a failed attack on Vandal Savage. The Flash was the true V.I.P. of the episode.

The side story of Oliver’s son felt kind of forced. I would have rather received a bit more of Damien Darhk than paternity issues. It’s hard for Oliver to include his son in the mix when he’s trying to save the entire world. If they put some Darhk in the episode then it would have been awesome. His character is semi-interesting.

This crossover set up more of the new season of Legends of Tomorrow. It gave some context into the character of Vandal Savage and even showed how it all started. He’s going to be tied in with Hawkgirl and Hawkman for the most part. Right now Vandal Savage is a force and really owns the pair of Hawk people.

Malcolm played the middle man this episode and really annoyed me a bit. He keeps on popping up randomly just to further the plot. They could have used him differently. In one timeline he’s completely scared of Vandal Savage but goes to save him in the end knowing he can’t control him. It’s quite unlike his character on this show.

Cisco really had a lot of awesome lines and really developed over the span of the entire crossover. This is the second time he receives a shout out and it’s well deserved. You could tell why he’s such a pivotal role on the show. I can’t wait to see more from his character and maybe even a costume in the near future.

Final Grade -> 82%

Enough on what I thought about the episodes.
