Overall Thoughts

This mid-season finale felt like a regular episode. A lot happened but at the same time it didn’t leave you with your jaw hitting the floor. The episode with Glenn falling off of the dumpster felt more like a mid-season finale than this episode.

Morgan is proving to the group that he’s a big liability. His decision to try and rehabilitate the Wolves Leader backfired on him. He didn’t think Carol would follow him and find out. Carol did what every sane person would do and she demanded the execution of the guy. The Wolves Leader wouldn’t have conformed any time soon and the longer he’s held in that prison the more of a danger he becomes to the group. Now he has Denise, the only Alexandrian medic, and he could have shot at least 5 people during his escape.

Carl receives points for not being a snitch but at the same time he’s kind of naive. Ron’s plan finally came to light and it involves killing Carl. Ron gets into a shoving match with Carl and brings a ton of walkers to the house. This speeds up the group’s evacuation plan and forces their hands a bit. Carl tells everyone that the commotion was nothing but them finding weapons. The one redeeming thing about this altercation is that Carl took Ron’s gun and now they have a Glenn/ Nicholas relationship.

Deanna goes out like a champ at the end of the episode. She decides to go against suicide and take out a few walkers with her. Too bad she didn’t have a ton of bullets with her. During her final moments her aim improved and she cleared out a few walkers. Her character needed to go so Rick could have another shot at becoming the leader. The last few episodes Deanna have been going crazy.

Rick’s plan of covering the remaining survivors worked and they’re on their way to escaping. The quick thinking of Rick is going to save the group as long as Sam keeps his mouth quiet. There’s no better leader for the group right now than Rick. He got them to reinforce the wall, move the walkers passed the safe zone (well at least half of them), and got them thinking about becoming tougher.

Final Grade -> 72%

Enough on what I thought about the episodes.
