Episode 6 Overall Thoughts

This mid-season finale brought exactly what you wanted from the series. There’s a lot going on in the world of The Flash and it’s good. You have Harrison Wells making a risky deal with Zoom, love stories between Barry/Patty and Jay/Caitlin, rogues trying to kill The Flash, and the introduction of Wally West. If you think it would mess up this episode then you would be wrong. Everything flowed quite nicely.

Harrison Wells is such a layered character in this second season of The Flash. You have him trying to save his daughter all while trying to shake off the damage Eobard Thawne created while wearing his “Harrison suit” and it’s difficult. Tom Cavanagh is the man and he brings a ton to the show.
The performance of the week has to go to Jesse L Martin, also known as Joe West. The amount of emotion he brought to Joe West finding out about Wally West was superb. It’s hard to take a moment in an action packed episode and slow it down for one scene then pick it back up in another one. Kudos to this man for stretching those drama skills!
As I’ve mentioned on previous reviews of TV shows I could do without the love angle. It brings unwanted conflict and completely brings down a show at times. This week is no different. I didn’t mind the scenes with the couples but at the same time I felt the show dragged when it came to giving it screen time. When Patty mentioned to Barry that he might not have noticed the weird things going on in Central City with the meta-humans it just took me out of the story for a second. She mentioned how much she read up on him but thinks he wasn’t at every single crime scene involving a meta-human… just disappointing.

Final Grade -> 87%

Enough on what I thought about the episodes.
