Episode 13 Overall Thoughts

I’m extremely mad that they turned Malcolm into a sore loser. He was never this weak in the previous seasons and I hope there’s an endgame to this new side of him. Cross your fingers for a double cross in the works. It would be awesome to see Malcolm take over operations in H.I.V.E.

The dynamic between Nyssa and Oliver kind of worked but at the same time was stupid. At first Oliver didn’t want to get involved but ended up going against his words anyway. The fight made it see like Oliver was ten times better than Malcolm which was sad. I remember a Dark Archer that gave Oliver the business in previous seasons.

I did enjoy the chaos on the street surprisingly enough. The amount of violence reminded me of The Walking Dead, haha! All you’re missing are some well placed zombies and one angry father. Well at least you have the angry father part correct.

Final Grade -> 75%

Episode 14 Overall Thoughts

This was probably the best episode of the entire season. I’m not sure why this episode worked so well but it was definitely needed in the long run. You have action, a little bit of drama and the return of Captain Lance. That might be one of the reasons why this worked so well. This Captain Lance is the version we all love. No more brooding characters, except for Oliver… of course.

The WTF moment at the end of the episode really made me respect Damien just a little bit more than usual. He went from a three on the bad guy scale to a ten in no time. That moment showed how vicious this character can get when he’s not heavily relying on his mystic powers. Now I can’t wait to see what happens next week.

Thea stepped up to bat and it worked for her character. They’re starting to let other people shine in the series and that’s a good idea. No more selfish Oliver Queen story archs. They need to bring folks like Thea, Laurel, Diggle, Curtis and Quentin to the light to shine. If they’re going to continue to give these characters some of their own episodes then I see a lot of great things for the future.

Final Grade -> 90%

Enough on what I thought about the episodes.
