Jurassic World Review

Hello and Welcome Reviewers!

Today I’m reviewing the Jurassic World movie.

Short Synopsis:

Twenty-two years after the events of Jurassic Park, Isla Nublar now features a fully functioning dinosaur theme park, Jurassic World, as originally envisioned by John Hammond. After 10 years of operation and visitor rates declining, in order to fulfill a corporate mandate, a new attraction is created to re-spark visitor’s interest, which backfires horribly.**

Non-Spoiler Review:

Jurassic World brings back the joy of the first Jurassic Park movie with a few twists. There are some things that made it not as good as the original but it’s still a fun time at the movie. Colin Trevorrow definitely did justice to the franchise. Make sure you carry folks of all ages with you.

I give this movie a 7.7 out of 10.

This Jurassic World movie review contains possible spoilers. You’ve been warned.

** Warning, Possible Spoilers!!!! **

The Good:

The dinosaurs looked amazing! The look of the world re-introduced by Trevorrow was awe-inspiring. Isa Nublar comes back to the big screen. You see small, medium, large and extra-large dinosaurs. The best dinosaur of the bunch is the mini-triceratops.

Owens and his gang of Velociraptors… for… the … win!!!

The last battle of the movie was epic. The Indominous Rex was a force to be reckoned with in this battle. He took on Owen, a few Velociraptors, a T-Rex and held its own. The back and forth battle kept you on the edge of your seat. At the end, the numbers took over and the Mosasarus finished the battle. Did I mention there would be spoilers? HA!

The Bad:

The Indominous Rex was too overpowered. It had a lot of features from different animals. Some animals in the Rex’s make up are: T-Rex (Power), Cuttlefish (Camouflage), Abelisaurs (Bigger Size), Tree Frog (Stealth/ Thermoregulation), Pit Adder (Infrared Vision), and the Velociraptor (Problem-solving Intelligence). This alone would make it the king of almost anything. They should have only added a few abilities rather than the tons listed above. It took about 5-6 different animals with humans to take it down.

No one listened to their expert dinosaur trainer. Everyone mentioned how good Owens was as a trainer but when it came down to the beginning they thought he was crazy.

The Mitchell brothers came off a tad bit annoying. They showcased a lot of cliche points from brotherhood. The older brother is a douche to his younger brother and turns over a new leaf at the end. It would have been great to see more dinosaurs and less of the brothers react to each other. It’s called Jurassic World for a reason.

The story became predictable after a while. It sucks when you know what would happen before it actually plays out on the screen. You know the bad guy would try to take over and you know when something would go horribly wrong.

The Hypothetical:

It would be a different movie if they gave more time showcasing dinosaurs and less time to the human beings. It felt like they tried to set-up too much when all you need to do is show a ton of dinos. It’s called Jurassic World; I want to see different things with dinosaurs. I could care less about the humans and their struggles.
