Inside Out Review

Hello and Welcome Reviewers!

Today I’m reviewing the Inside Out movie.

Short Synopsis:

After young Riley is uprooted from her Midwest life and moved to San Francisco, her emotions – Joy, Fear, Anger, Disgust and Sadness – conflict on how best to navigate a new city, house and school.**

Non-Spoiler Review:

Inside Out is a lovely treat for the entire family. You will laugh, cry and smile while watching it. The entire movie is fresh and brings a new perspective to the way you think about your emotions. Disney Pixar has done it again with this movie. If you’re a fan of Up then you will really, really, really enjoy this venture.

I give this movie a 9.6 out of 10.

This Inside Out movie review contains possible spoilers. You’ve been warned.

The Good:

The animation on this movie was spectacular. You see a lot of improvements in the technology of today. Joy had this special kind of glow which was breathtaking. The different shades they used to show both Joy and Sadness were outstanding. The visuals on the different areas of Riley’s brain were jaw dropping.

Awesome voice casting for each emotion was key for the success of this movie. You’re more invested in a movie when you have the right voices and this cast worked. Who would think that hiring a cast of comedic actors would pay off for a well-rounded movie.

Sadness was the best part of this movie. She gave a lot of funny one-liners and made you really connect with the movie. Even the rest of the emotions needed her in the end. She was a pivotal part of the group. Her character went through the most change and it was awesome.

The concept of the movie is well thought out. You see a great amount of thought that was put into this movie. The way different long-term and short-term memories are created was interesting. No one has ever tried to showcase the reasons why people behave the way they do on the big screen. You could argue and say Osmosis Jones did something familiar but I would have to disagree. It had a few things that made for a good movie but it had nothing on Inside Out.

The Bad:

Even though this movie was awesome, it’s not free from a bad point. The way how the movie wrapped up so quickly and nicely felted a bit rushed. When Riley decides to run away from home and at the last minute while on the bus she goes back home. It’s unreal; I know… talking about a movie not being real is crazy. No kid would be able to get on a bus by themselves for such a long bus ride.

The Hypothetical:

Hmm… I have nothing that would make this movie more enjoyable. It was a great time and anything to change it might have hurt the movie rather than make it better.
