The Good

Hugh Jackman was amazing as Wolverine.

He was the main character was amazing. It was a different Wolverine than the previous films. Logan was funny, less angry, and ripped.

The scene with Jackman having to act as if he didn’t know what was going on in the past was remarkable. He portrayed two different characters in those 15 minutes, the old Logan and the Future Logan.

James McAvoy played multiple sides to Charles Xavier aka Professor X.

At first he played a defeat Xavier after the events of X-Men: First Class. You could tell how far he sank and his despair.

After the confrontation with Magneto, you could sense Xavier going back to trying to fix things instead of just hiding away. The old Xavier’s mindset came in and shined.

Evan Peters as Quicksilver was a great part in this movie. His character was funny, powerful and resourceful.

The scene with him holding Magneto’s head was cool. He knew the whiplash could cause problems and countered it accordingly.

His best scene was inside of the kitchen when he used super speed to take out all of the guards. It showed how fast he was and had comical moments to his style.

The action sequences are the best for this whole X-Men franchise. They really took it to the next level.

Blink was the MVP of the future fights with her portals. She placed them in the perfect location to fight off the sentinels for as long as she could. They even combined her power with other mutants to increase their attacks.

Jennifer Lawrence did an amazing job doing fight scenes as Mystique. She showed a level of fighting and agility to the likes of Rebecca Romijn’s Mystique portrayal.

The plot was great for this movie. When you’re watching this movie it will amaze you on how it didn’t feel slow at all. Each moment of screen time was used nicely. The transition between the past and future was on point.

The Bad

The difference in time between the past and the future was a bit confusing. You’re unsure if the X-Men from the future is in one place for days or just a few hours. The sentinels of the future seem very advanced and it shouldn’t take them days to find a large amount of mutants especially when they came with such a huge fleet.

The miracle curing formula created by Hank worked differently when used by Xavier. They did mention that Xavier had a slightly stronger dosage but Hank was able to transform at will which didn’t make sense. Anytime Hank wanted to transform into the beast he was able to with ease which took away from the film just a bit.

DC's Hypothetical Corner

Let’s say I change one thing. Maybe that one thing will make this movie better or more watchable.

It would be a different movie if Bishop went back in time through a different medium than Kitty like in the comics. The comics really showed an awesome timeline with Bishop trying to go to the past to fix the future. If you would like to know more about this story line then check it out online. Question of the week: What are your thoughts about this movie?
