Episode 9 Overall Thoughts

Mr Porter is up to testify and you find out nothing new from season one. You could see he’s battling with a lot of guilt from the last encounter with Hannah. He could have done more but failed to make the proper attempt. The only thing great about this episode was the discovery of the Clubhouse. It was found while Clay, Tyler and Cyrus trashed the baseball field. I’m surprised no one saw them because they didn’t really hide at all. You also have a scene that set up the next episode with Olivia begging a student from Hannah’s old school not to testify.

This episode only played as a season driving force. You find the Clubhouse and you get one step closer to finding the other polaroids. Mr Porter’s testimony was fine but there’s not much gained during this episode otherwise. They should have added a bit more to it in order to keep people’s interest in the story.

Grade -> 40%

Episode 10 Overall Thoughts

More skeletons come out of Hannah’s closet with the testimony of Sarah. She’s an old classmate of Hannah from another school. This testimony painted Hannah as a bully and hurt her case badly. Afterwards you have Tony hit the stands and he didn’t do any better. There’s a lot of things he couldn’t mention which made him seem unsure and really damaged Hannah’s image. Shari finds out the pass code for the Clubhouse but gets caught in a tricky situation. Nothing much happens expect her picture being taken and she’s pressured into smoking marijuana. After breaking into the Clubhouse it’s discovered that Zach was the person who left Clay the polaroids. When looking at the rest of the pictures they see many damaging photos were taken at the Clubhouse.

This episode was surprising amazing. You have a lot of things happening and more information coming out about everyone. The slow pace of the season is lifted and you get a clearer picture. The discovery of Zach helping out Clay with the polaroids was surprising and makes you wonder when did he leave them at the various spots. He should have came out long time ago to the group. I really didn’t care for Tony’s testimony since he’s been very secretive. I’ve also realized that the judge is allowing the defense to do anything they want and that’s not cool.

Grade -> 70%

Episode 11 Overall Thoughts

Bryce finally takes the stand and they barely cover anything with him. He gives a story about his first interaction with Hannah, which was super believable at this point, and that paints an even worse picture about the girl. Chloe begins to show signs of wanting to help out Mrs Baker but backs out as soon as she’s on the stand. It made the defense’s argument even stronger. Everyone was left shocked because she totally strung them along. Later in the episode Bryce confesses to his mother about raping Hannah. Clay finally breaks down and almost commits suicide right after a failed attempt to kill Bryce. Not to mention the box of polaroids were stolen too.

This episode was disappointing. You have too many people mixing up stories and watering down everything that it started to piss me off. Chloe really appeared as if she would be help out the group but backs out weirdly. It’s like she lost all self-esteem and decided she could deal with Bryce’s actions. I can honestly admit that Bryce’s story about Hannah seemed believable especially after hearing about Zach but then I remembered the previous testimonies mentioned that Zach was her first. Kudos to the actor playing Bryce, he makes you want to hate him.

Grade -> 35%

Episode 12 Overall Thoughts

You realize that Montgomery was the one that threatened all of the folks going to testify. He’s confronting by the group in order to find the missing polaroids. Unfortunately he doesn’t have it which bring the group back to square one. Justin’s testimony sheds a light on his friendship with Bryce. The case ends and the Bakers lost. Justin’s courage inspired Jessica to go to the cops and press charges. This leads to both Bryce and Justin being arrested for the events that happened to Jessica. Mr Porter is immediately fired and Tyler is sent off to a program to manage his anger.

This episode wasn’t horrible but you could see what was going to happen for the final episode. A lot of the remaining threads were cleaned up and many people were pissed. I didn’t like that they charged Justin as an accessory to everything. My only concern about the episode was the fact that testimony from Mr Porter didn’t condemn the school.

Grade -> 45%

Enough on what I thought about the episodes.
